It is our honor to welcome the Chief Financial Officer for the state of Texas as an Infill Thinking guest contributor today. Glenn Hegar was elected as the 36th Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in November 2014.
Glenn and his team at the Texas Comptroller’s office have played a high profile role in the West Texas frac sand rush since its inception in early-2017. This year, the Texas Comptroller Office’s role in frac sand industry regulation has become increasingly significant.
Given the importance of recent DSL developments, I invited Glenn Hegar to pen an op-ed for Infill Thinking readers. I was curious to hear his thoughts on the frac sand boom, the DSL, and rationale for re-writing the conservation plan. I am grateful to Glenn for writing this important piece to help Infill Thinking members understand his office’s perspective on sand.
