As an addendum to this week’s deep dive mobile-mini report from our site visit to see several in-field frac sand plants in person last week, we wanted to break out and highlight the limiting factors we see to this sand mining approach. There are some big insurmountable ones in our list that we believe will prevent this sand mining approach from becoming ubiquitous in shale (i.e. this method will never penetrate the market to the extent in-basin sand mining did).
